this aftermarket kick stand is so very handy! It self-retracts as the bike is pushed forward. It makes a great bike stand too when removing either the front or rear wheels

they are of hard, cast steel, and run in grease. This design is from the 1890s. It has stood the test of time.

I will be adding a grease fitting (zerk type) to the hub, to enable flushing the hub with clean grease at will. This will eject wear products, sand and water. No "seals" needed; the coaster brake works as well in the wet as when the roads are dry.
